Your Business Relocation and Your Phone System
During any business relocation you may be overwhelmed with all of the things you must do. One of the most important concerns you may have is with your phone systems and relocating your business telephone lines. There are several things to consider regarding relocating your business telephone lines, ADSL Internet and PABX telephone system.
When you contact the company about your business phone relocation, you must realise that they do not have to physically move the lines. Generally, when you relocate, they must simply divert your telephone numbers to the new location or connect the new lines at your new location. However, you do want to plan this in advance, as it can take some time for this to be done.
Many businesses are worried about keeping their existing telephone numbers and in most cases, if you are moving within the same exchange area, you should be able to keep the same numbers. Regardless of how far away your business is moving, always be sure to verify that the same number can be used. The last thing you want to find out is that moving just one block away will require you to have a new telephone number. If you do have to have a new number, it doesn’t have to be a show stopper as the line can be set to a Exchange Based Redirection (call forwarding) for relatively low cost.
If you are moving because your business has expanded, you will also want to consider how many phone lines you will need after relocating. One option to consider is to install ISDN 2 or ISDN 10/20/30 phone lines, as you can easily add lines as you need them and you can get the benefit of a 100 number DID range. Not only that, the digital phone lines will allow for clearer and higher quality sound.
These are just a few things to consider with your telephone system when you are in the middle of a business relocation. Your business phone company will be able to recommend the system that is right for you and your business. Keep in mind, you will always want to give them as much advance notice to allow them to help you plan your telephone services quickly and efficiently.
