Mobile Marketing Campaign – The Secret To Advertising Success

By , February 10, 2012

New Zealand based mobile operator used the mobile marketing campaign to take on a telecommunications duopoly, and ended up with 31 000 business leads and managed to cut their advertising budget too.

The mobile phone operator, Black + White, set up a mobile marketing campaign and began encouraging consumers to text ‘black’ to a short code for more information.

Not only did this provide Black + White with thousands of business leads to follow up on, it also allowed them to measure how effective their advertising was.

The Black + White case is similar to a growing number of firms taking advantage of the real-time, real-audience information provided by SMS mobile marketing.

Instead of relying on TARPS and rough circulation figures for print advertisements, businesses are provided with real figures on who saw or heard their advertisement, and when and how it was received.

Analysis of this information provides businesses with the power to make well-informed decisions regarding where their advertising budget is best spent, or more importantly – where it isn’t.

Businesses can ask themselves why are they paying top dollare to advertise on prime-time television when their target audience is watching something else or not watching TV at all?

Businesses no longer have to rely on internet or call centres to measure response rates to their advertisements. With mobile marketing they can see who has responded and can follow up with a phone call or email.

For businesses like Black + White in New Zealand, a mobile marketing campaign means real savings on wasted advertisements that were traditionally considered imperative to customer interaction.

Small to medium sized businesses are usually on a low budget and small timeline for their marketing incentives. Therefore, having a low cost and easy to setup mobile marketing option is proving to be quite popular with this sized industry.
